An auto driver has been accused of attacking the home of a customs department official in Sonarpur. The incident occurred on Friday night. The accused auto driver, Azizul Gazi, allegedly stormed an upscale housing complex in Sonarpur with associates. Customs department official Pradip Kumar was allegedly assaulted, according to the complaint. Police have already arrested the accused, Azizul.
According to police sources, on Friday night, while returning home from the office, customs department official Pradip Kumar, a resident of Sonarpur Megacity area, got into an argument with auto driver Azizul. The situation became so heated that it escalated to a physical altercation. Later, both parties calmed down and left the area following intervention by locals.
However, after a while, auto driver Azizul allegedly returned to the scene with several others and created a disturbance in front of Pradip's housing complex. Then they allegedly beat up Pradip mercilessly. He was seriously injured in this incident. After receiving preliminary treatment from a local doctor, the customs department official filed a written complaint at the police station. Police have arrested Azizul Gazi along with several others connected to this incident during the investigation. Police preliminarily suspect that several more people were involved in this attack. In this incident, Pradip Kumar has claimed that his wife was also harassed. He said the disturbance was captured on the housing complex's CCTV cameras. He has demanded exemplary punishment for the culprits in the entire incident.
