A BJP panchayat member's name appears twice in the same part number with different EPIC numbers! The panchayat member also possesses two voter cards with different numbers. One card lists his father's name, while the other lists his uncle's name as the father's name, as acknowledged by Gopal Barai, member of Satgachi panchayat in Kalna. At the Ramkrishnapalli booth in Satgachi panchayat, serial number 278 shows his name recorded with his father's name as Anil Barai. Again, at number 306, Gopal's father's name is mentioned as Dulal Barai. Gopal himself informed on Wednesday that Dulal Barai is his uncle's name and Anil is his father's name. Gopal also showed two voter cards with different numbers. When questioned about this, Gopal said, "The 1989 voter list had my parents' names. The name was struck off in 1992. So I made a card with my uncle's name. Later, when my father's name appeared in the voter list, I made a card with my father's name instead of my uncle's name." He claims, "About a year ago, I came to know that my name appears twice in the voter list. I went to get one name removed. But they said it cannot be done now. I also thought it would be automatically removed in the SIR."
