Two people were caught cheating at an exam center in Naxalbari, Siliguri. While trying to become police officers, these two were arrested on charges of cheating.
According to sources, more than two and a half lakh candidates sat for the sub-inspector recruitment exam on Sunday. The exam was held under strict surveillance by the state police. Police said that on Sunday, the written exam for the sub-inspector post was being conducted at Hatighisa Vincent High School. Candidates came there from different parts of the state.
Mohammad Mobas and Rubel Sheikh had come from Malda. The examiners noticed that they were trying to cheat by taking out chits from their pockets. As soon as this came to attention, the examiners informed the police personnel responsible for security about the matter. Police conducted a search and recovered several chits from these two persons.
They were caught red-handed while trying to cheat. After this, upon receiving information, police from Naxalbari police station came to the spot. The accused were also arrested. However, according to administrative sources, this did not cause any disruption to the conduct of the examination.
