The state has been in turmoil over the gang rape of a private medical college student in Durgapur. Police have already arrested five people in connection with this incident. On Tuesday, police began investigating the case with the arrested individuals. On Tuesday morning, police took two of the arrested, Sheikh Nasiruddin and Sheikh Riazuddin, to their homes in Bijara village. Police recovered the clothes that the two had worn on the night of the incident, i.e., Friday night, from their homes on this day.
According to sources, police conducted searches at the homes of the two individuals on Tuesday morning. After that, police recovered the clothes from their homes. It has been learned that the clothes of the arrested will be sent for forensic examination. According to police sources, the two arrested individuals will be taken to the jungle adjacent to Poranganj crematorium Kali temple on Tuesday afternoon for reconstruction of the incident.
In response to reporters' questions on Monday, the victim's father had stated that they want to take their daughter to their own home in Odisha as soon as possible. The young woman is currently admitted to the hospital. The medical bulletin issued by IQ City Medical College Hospital on Monday stated that the student's condition is stable and she is gradually recovering.
It may be noted that last Friday around 9 PM, the young woman went out to eat with a classmate outside the campus. The allegation is that at that time, the young woman was dragged to a local jungle and raped. She was admitted to the hospital in a critical condition. Police arrested three people on Saturday night in connection with the incident. Subsequently, police arrested two more people on Sunday night as suspected accused in the gang rape.
