The Election Commission has started preparations for the SIR in West Bengal. Although the official notification has not been issued yet, all the concerned officials, including the BLO, have been given all the instructions regarding the preparation for the SIR. On the other hand, the ruling party in the state has warned of a larger movement if the names of eligible voters are excluded from the SIR. On the other hand, the top leadership of the state BJP has started giving out statistics of how many voters (ineligible) will be left out in the SIR. In terms of statistics, there is a huge difference between the statement of BJP leader Dilip Ghosh and the Leader of the opposition in the Assembly, Suvendu Adhikari. The Trinamool did not spare to punch.

On Sunday evening, BJP leader Dilip Ghosh went to inaugurate a Kali Puja in Midnapore town. At the same time, the former BJP state president said that in Bihar, 69 lakh voters have been excluded. In West Bengal, the number will double. That is, according to Dilip's statement, about 1 crore 38 lakh names could be excluded from the voter list if SIR is executed.

On the other hand, Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly, Suvendu Adhikari, had hinted at the omission of 2 crore 40 lakh names in the SIR. Attending the Vijaya Sammelani of the BJP's district organising committee in Pursura, Suvendu stated that 2 crore 40 lakh names have not been linked. They are not Indians. SIR is the semi-final. Everyone's name will be dropped.

According to the statements of the two top leaders of the state BJP, the difference in the number of illegal voters is around 1 crore, which is not a small number. The Trinamool Congress has started to take a dig at it. Midnapore district Trinamool Congress president Sujoy Hazra called Suvendu semi-insane. He also added that Dilip Ghosh understands the reality to some extent. The BJP has no base in West Bengal. It will be washed out in the 26th election. So he (Dileep) has come down halfway. Our clear statement is that if the name of a single legitimate voter is omitted, we will show what the resistance movement looks like.

The Election Commission will hold a meeting with the administrations of Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh on October 30. This meeting will be held to conduct a fair election. Besides, the work of mapping the voters' list in the pre-SIR phase has already started in the state.
