The head of the Kandi police station's IC was injured while trying to resolve a land dispute. Two other police personnel were also attacked. On Friday afternoon, tension spread in Majherdhar village of Gokarna 1 gram panchayat under Kandi police station in Murshidabad following the incident.
A dispute had started between two parties over cutting paddy in the field during the afternoon. The dispute led to an argument, which escalated into a scuffle. Upon receiving information, a large police force led by Kandi police station IC Mrinal Sinha reached the spot. They went to stop the argument between the two parties. It is alleged that IC Mrinal Sinha was hit on the head with a bamboo at that time. Besides, bricks were also allegedly thrown at the police. Two other police personnel were injured in this. The injured were rescued and rushed to Gokarna Block Primary Hospital for treatment.
It has been learned that the IC was seriously injured in this incident. He received stitches on his head.
