Again another incident of alleged suicide due to SIR-NRC panic has coming to light. This time the incident has been reported in Bhangar, South 24 Parganas. Allegedly, a person named Safikul Gazi committed suicide by hanging himself with a towel around his neck in Joypur, Bhangar. He had been in panic ever since the state announced the Special Intensive Revision or SIR. This incident occurred on Wednesday. With this, allegations have been raised of a total of 9 unnatural deaths due to SIR panic.

However, a section of the area claims that Safikul was a resident of Ghusighata in Kulti panchayat, Haroa block of North 24 Parganas. He had been staying at his in-laws' house in Joypur for some days. He was injured in an accident a few months ago. Since then, he had been mentally broken.

Safikul's wife Madira Bibi claims that her husband had been in panic for the past few days. He kept saying repeatedly that he had no identity documents. HE was more worried as he had no brothers or father. His wife tried to make him understand repeatedly. But this incident occurred on Wednesday morning.
