The Puja holidays are over. As the college prepares to reopen, administrative complications have once again emerged in Midnapore. The incident involves Keshpur Sukumar Sengupta Mahavidyalaya in West Midnapore. After the principal's retirement, the college is going to work without a principal. The college governing body is currently in a dilemma over who will become the acting principal.

Dipankar Bhuiya retired from the position of college principal on September 30. However, since the Puja holidays had started from September 24, the handover of responsibilities did not take place. On the day of retirement, although the principal wanted to hand over the responsibilities to college professor, Bamdev Senapati was unwilling to accept them due to the government holiday. Therefore, Dipak retired after handing over the responsibilities to governing body president Chitta Garai.
Meanwhile, the college is set to reopen tomorrow, Wednesday, October 28. Therefore, the governing body wants to appoint an acting principal quickly. It is alleged that when Professor Bamdev was requested to take charge, he declined. On Monday, another professor, Pratim Bhattacharya, was asked to take responsibility, but he also showed reluctance to accept the position due to the government holiday. Pratim claims that Bamdev also did not clearly express unwillingness to take responsibility. It has been learned that alongside Bamdev and Pratim, Professor Suman Pratihar had also expressed interest in taking responsibility for writing. However, none of them agreed to take charge as the handover did not follow proper procedures during the holiday period.
Regarding this, retired principal Dipankar Bhuiya states, “I have retired after handing over the responsibilities. Now the governing body will make the next decision.” On the other hand, according to governing body president Chitta Garai, “Those who were asked to take responsibility were not willing. Therefore, local professor Gautam Chakraborty has been temporarily given the responsibility of overseeing the college's daily operations during the holidays. It is also hoped that a new principal will join soon.”
