A young biker fell off the Kamalgazi flyover in a serious accident on Monday, around 10:30 AM. Arun Noskar, 35, was admitted to the hospital in critical condition. Eyewitnesses say reckless speed caused the accident. Losing control of his bike, Arun first collided with another bike coming from the opposite direction, then hit the divider, and due to excessive speed, was thrown off the flyover. After hitting the divider, his bike also struck a pedestrian, who was injured as well.
Arun, a resident of Dhopagachi in Baruipur, was travelling toward Kolkata via the Kamalgazi flyover. The other biker, Apurba Mondal, who lives near Khudiram Metro Station, was returning home after buying fireworks and was also injured. Apurba’s mother, Sulata Mondal, said her son had gone out to buy fireworks, and she received a call shortly after that he was hospitalised.
Aryan, who runs a shop directly under the bridge, said he was sitting in his shop when he heard a loud crash. Rushing outside, he saw a young man lying on the ground and screamed in shock. The scene quickly drew a crowd above the bridge.
Mahidali Sapu, who works at an auto shop beneath the Kamalgazi EM Bypass flyover, reported that the bike fell while descending the flyover at high speed, causing injuries to two others as well, all of whom were admitted to the hospital.
