After Cooch Behar and Alipurduar, now two residents of Nadia have received notices from Assam's Foreigners Tribunal. Both the individuals are residents of Shondanga village of Dhubulia. As soon as this incident came to light, Krishnanagar Trinamool MP Mahua Moitra became vocal against the BJP. The BJP also responded vocally.

Those who have been served the notices are named Sanju Sai Sheikh and Asad Ali Sheikh. According to sources, A few years ago Asad and Sanju had gone to work in Assam for 15 days. Following that connection, this notice was issued last August. In both notices, allegations of entering Assam without valid documents have been raised. Initially, neither of the two could understand the meaning of the letters. They went to their local panchayat office regarding it. After which, many people read that letter and understood that they had been served notice by the Assam government. That's when both the individuals started to panic.

News of the notice reached the ears of local representatives. First, the panchayat head reassured them. After that, local MLA Ujjwal Biswas and Krishnanagar MP Mahua Moitra also assured the men of standing by them and targeted the BJP. Mahua shared a post on X handle saying,'"NRC notices issued illegally by Assam govt to 2 bonafide citizens & residents of Bengal’s Nadia. Assam BJP govt has no authority, no jurisdiction to do this. BJP pre-election tricks to create panic & fuel fires. "

The BJP also responded vocally. On this matter, Sandip Majumdar, spokesperson of North Nadia BJP, countered, there is no mention of NRC in this letter. It could also be a fabricated matter by the ruling party of the state.

Meanwhile, after receiving this notice, Asad claims he had gone to Assam 15 years ago to do marble work. And he could never have imagined that he would be served a notice for that. On the other hand, Sanju claims his entire family has been residents of Nadia for a long time. Even then, he cannot understand why he was served the notice.
