About Tirol village
This Tirol village is located 10 km north of Arambag town in an area bordering the Bardhaman district. In ancient times, these areas were surrounded by jungle. Even in broad daylight, dacoits roamed freely. No one would venture out after noon. However, at present, with modern civilization's touch on everything from roads to other facilities, one can easily reach the Mother's temple. Moreover, with railway connectivity established, devotees gather daily.
Particularly, a larger number of mentally imbalanced patients are seen here. Local belief holds that with the Goddess’s blessings, mentally imbalanced patients recover miraculously. Therefore, the priest places iron bangles with blessings. With this faith, that person will miraculously start leading a normal life.
The Chakraborty family of Tirol claims that about 700-800 years ago, the devout zamindar Deennath Chakraborty established the Mother's temple after receiving divine instruction in a dream. Incidentally, writer Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay wrote a short story called 'Tiroler Bala'. It is said that this story was written keeping in mind the practice of wearing Ma Khyapa Kali's bangle.
If one listens carefully in Tirol village, it can be heard that Ma Sarada herself had sent her sister-in-law to Khyapa Kali's temple to cure her mental illness.
Later, it is heard that Sarada Ma's own niece Ranu also benefited from Khyapa Kali's grace. Present descendants claim that during the Mother's worship, a crown comes every year from the Biswas's house of Dhanekhali. Again, shehnai players come from a specific village. The Mother's divine bangles are also being made traditionally by a specific blacksmith family of this village.
Regarding this, Nirmalya Chakraborty, a member of this family and priest, informs that although the Mother receives daily worship, special prayers are conducted in the month of Kartik. From those ancient times till today, in the same manner, people of Tirol's Chakraborty family have been conducting the Mother's worship with great pomp through generations.
