The bomb was found in Laudah village under the Bolpur police station area of Birbhum a month ago. Seeing the bomb lying on the riverbank, the villagers brought the bomb to the riverbank. The Bolpur police station was informed. The Bolpur police station had been cordoning off the bomb for over a month. The police informed the Indian Army.
On Wednesday, a team from the Indian Army reached the spot around noon. Then the huge bomb was defused by detonating it under controlled conditions.
