Trinamool Congress general secretary Abhishek Banerjee on Thursday announced the launch of ‘Ami Banglar Digital Joddha’, describing it as a youth-driven movement to “protect Bengal’s identity” and fight misinformation online.
In a post shared on his official X handle, Abhishek Banerjee said Bengal was being “hounded, humiliated, maligned, and vilified by Bohiragoto Bangla-Birodhi Zamindars who thrive on lies and propaganda.” He added that the new initiative seeks to unite young voices to “stand up for Bengal’s rights, dignity, and truth.”
“It is upon us to stand up for Bengal’s rights, dignity, and truth, to fight back with clarity and conviction,” Banerjee wrote, urging young people to register on ABDigitalJoddha.com and “become Digital Joddhas.”
TMC calls it a digital movement of youth and unity
The All India Trinamool Congress (AITC), from its official handle @AITCofficial, described the campaign as a “youth-led movement to defend Bengal’s identity and amplify its achievements.”
The party’s post stated that the initiative was launched to challenge “misinformation and false narratives” about Bengal in the digital space. “Bengal’s story must be told with courage, purpose, and unity,” the statement read, urging the state’s youth to join the campaign and “carry the message of Bengal’s progress across the country and the world.”
According to the AITC, the campaign calls upon young citizens to “stand against distortion, uphold truth, and spread Bengal’s message of progress.”
Registration and participation
The initiative is open for public participation, with registrations available through ABDigitalJoddha.com. The website encourages citizens to join as “Digital Joddhas” or digital warriors, who will contribute to sharing verified information and highlighting Bengal’s achievements online.
Banerjee described the effort as a “clarion call” to the youth, emphasising that collective participation would help strengthen Bengal’s digital presence and safeguard its reputation nationally and globally.
