5 September, Friday: On Thursday, September 4, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee delivered a powerful blow to the BJP, causing a great deal of action in the Bengal Assembly. Speaker Biman Banerjee's decision to use marshals to remove BJP MLA and chief whip Dr. Sankar Ghosh following his suspension caused tensions to rise. Leaders from the BJP rushed the well while chanting "Jai Shri Ram" and stopped the process. The Trinamool Congress-led government attempted to enact a resolution denouncing the assaults on Bengali migrant workers in states that were ruled by the BJP.

Amid the noise, CM Mamata Banerjee raised her voice. She accused the BJP, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah of being "anti-Bengal" and blocking discussions on the harassment of Bengalis. As, she was interrupted by the other members in the assembly, she said, “aamar karor support dorkar nei, ami ekai 100” which translates I don't need anyone support, I’m more than enough, presenting herself confident enough that she’ll anyway raise her voice on migrant workers. The Trinamool Congress introduced a motion under Rule 169, amid recent events, including the alleged abuse of a migrant worker in BJP-ruled states, to highlight the "persecution faced by Bengalis" outside Bengal.

"The BJP is a dishonest party that steals votes. The largest dacoit party is this one. We witnessed how they harassed our MPs in Parliament using the CISF. "Remove the anti-Bengal BJP and save the country," the Chief Minister said as the opposition MLAs chanted, "Bangla-birodi BJP hatao desh bachao.". As she cautioned the opposition benches, her words became more forceful. "Believe me when I say that one day there won't be a single BJP MLA in this House. People will deprive you of authority. Banerjee declared that the government led by Amit Shah and Modi at the center would soon fall.”

The chief minister Mamata Banerjee further asserted that the BJP was against talking about attacks on migrants because the saffron party controlled the states where violence against Bengali migrants took place. Due to his disturbance inside the Bengal Legislative Assembly Dr. Sankar Ghosh was suspended for the remainder of the day. Just as Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was ready to address the resolution the BJP MLAs began chanting as the suspension was imposed. Ghosh was forcibly removed from the House after assembly marshals were called in because he would not leave.

In response to the chaos, Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari posted on X, "Today, in the West Bengal Assembly, democracy was murdered by the democracy-killer Mamata and her servile administration." https://x.com/SuvenduWB/status/1963522398713778545

Adhikari was suspended from the Assembly earlier that week for the remainder of this special session for disrupting proceedings.
