Lauren Sánchez posted a collection of images showcasing a successful rocket launch by Jeff Bezos’ space company, Blue Origin. Among them is an image that shows the billionaire’s response after his company’s New Glenn rocket was launched carrying a duo of NASA spacecraft aimed for Mars from the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida

One of the photos shows Jeff Bezos beaming clear-eyed, genuinely happy moments after the massive rocket, carrying two NASA spacecraft headed to Mars, lifted off from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. Another captures him mid–fist-pump, a rare, unguarded display of triumph.

“Watching New Glenn rise and then land on Jacklyn (named after Jeff’s mom) was so emotional for me, and it reflects years of discipline and dedication from Jeff and the entire Blue Origin team,” Sánchez wrote.

Notably, this was Blue Origin’s inaugural launch of New Glenn, the company's “giant and reusable rocket,” designed for ambitious missions far beyond low Earth orbit. “New Glenn's first stage is designed for a minimum of 25 flights. By operating like a commercial airliner (but with cleaner fuel), New Glenn will lead to significantly less waste and cost.”

After powering the rocket’s upper stage, the reusable booster detached cleanly and descended toward the ocean, touching down on the Jacklyn floating landing platform. The barge, named after Bezos’ mother, Jacklyn Gise Bezos, carries the weight of memory as much as the hardware. She passed away on August 14, 2025, at age 78.

“I’m so proud of you all for this epic milestone,” Sánchez added.

Social media, predictably, poured out its reactions

One person simply wrote, “Epic.” Another added, “Amazing! Congratulations.”

"Incredible! Huge congratulations! What a team. Amazing. And the name — so touching,” one piped in, saying.

“Incredible!!! Such a huge accomplishment. So proud!” another wrote.
