US helicopter and fighter jet crashes in South China Sea amid President Trump's Asia visit

The US Navy is investigating the matter to examine the cause of the accident.

A US Navy helicopter and a fighter jet crashed in the South China Sea. These accidents occurred on Sunday. The US Navy has issued a statement regarding this. According to which, there were no casualties in the accidents. An investigation has been launched to examine what caused these accidents. This is Donald Trump's first visit to Asia after becoming the US President for the second time. This incident in the South China Sea during the same time is extremely significant, according to the experts.

The Navy announced on social media that the MH-60R Sea Hawk helicopter crashed at around 2:45 PM local time during a routine operation. The rescue team rescued three crew members who were in this helicopter. About 30 minutes after this incident, the F/A-18F Super Hornet fighter jet was also damaged. The Navy reported that the two crew members on it are safe and they were successfully rescued.

The South China Sea is extremely important from a diplomatic relations perspective. This is because China and several Southeast Asian countries have claimed sovereignty over these waters at different times.
