India's Adani Power Limited (APL) is very likely to seek help in international arbitration proceedings to resolve the dispute over outstanding dues for electricity supplied to Bangladesh. According to sources, Adani Power has warned that if the Bangladesh Power Development Board does not clear the dues by the 10th of this month, power supply to Bangladesh will be stopped from November 11.

However, Bangladesh's Power Adviser Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan claims, "The discussion process is still ongoing. After the discussions are concluded, international arbitration will be pursued if necessary."

A dispute is ongoing between APL and the Bangladesh Power Development Board over payment for electricity supplied as part of a contract signed in 2017. Kabir Khan has already said, "If evidence of corruption is found in Adani's contract, it may also be cancelled." All in all, the battle is fierce.
