Jaish-e-Mohammed is hitting headlines again. The Jaish base in Bahawalpur was destroyed in an attack during Operation Sindur. But even after that, Jaish did not retreat. Videos had already emerged publicly showing that the Bahawalpur camp was being rebuilt with the help of the Pakistan army and administration. Now, another information has come to light. For the first time, Masood Azhar's Jaish-e-Mohammed is creating its own women's brigade.
This extremist militant organization of Pakistan has always looked down upon women. Jaish-e-Mohammed has kept women away from armed militant attacks or combat missions. This militant organization has moved away from that position. Masood Azhar's group has decided to create 'Jamat-ul-Mominat'. They have announced that recruitment for this group will begin from Markaz Usman-o-Ali in Bahawalpur.
According to media sources, this women's brigade will be led by Masood Azhar's sister Sadia Azhar. Sadia has already been declared a terrorist by the United Nations. Sadia's husband, Yusuf Azhar, was also one of the top leaders of this militant organization. During Operation Sindur, India had attacked Jaish's headquarters in Bahawalpur. Yusuf Azhar was killed in that attack.
According to sources, the wives of militants already working for Jaish will be recruited into the brigade. There are plans to recruit wives or women family members of militants who have died into the brigade. Additionally, girls from financially disadvantaged families who come to study at bases in Bahawalpur, Karachi, Kotli, and Haripur will also be given militant training and recruited into the women's brigade.
Militant organizations like ISIS, Boko Haram, Hamas, and the LTTE have used women as suicide bombers multiple times. However, organizations like Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba had been avoiding this approach until now.
Experts believe that 'Jamat-ul-Mominat' will target India. They will try to expand their network in multiple areas of India (Jammu-Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, and some parts of South India). This group may carry out brainwashing activities using social media platforms. The newly formed brigade targets not only disadvantaged sections but also educated and urban women to bring them under the umbrella of militant organizations in the name of religion. Jaish-e-Mohammed is the mastermind behind multiple major militant attacks in India. That list includes incidents like the 2001 Parliament attack and the 2019 Pulwama attack.
