Hamas and Israel have agreed on the first phase of the Gaza peace deal plan. US President Donald Trump made this announcement on Wednesday night. He claims that both sides have agreed to the peace proposal they offered. Trump is "proud" to be able to announce this.
Trump said that both Israel and Hamas have agreed to end the war in Gaza. As a result, all hostages will be freed. Israel will also withdraw its troops from Gaza. The American President shared this on Truth Social. The American President also said he is 'proud' to be able to announce this.
He said, "I am very proud to announce that Israel and Hamas have both signed off on the first Phase of our Peace Plan... BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS!"
Notably, war has been going on in Gaza for two years. Trump had taken the initiative to stop this war that began in October 2023. He said that because both sides have agreed to a ceasefire, "long-lasting peace" will be established in West Asia.
The US President also mentioned that this day is a special day for America. Trump also thanked Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey as mediators for stopping this conflict.
Trump had made a 20-point proposal to establish peace in Gaza. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu agreed to it. Hamas also accepted most of the proposals. After that, this meeting was organized in Egypt.
According to a Reuters report, Hamas has said it has agreed to a deal to ensure an end to the war in Gaza, Israeli troop withdrawal, and hostage exchange. According to the Reuters report, Hamas has called on Trump and guarantor states to ensure Israel's implementation of the Gaza ceasefire agreement.
On the other hand, Netanyahu posted on social media immediately after Trump's announcement. He said, “With the approval of the first phase of the plan, all our hostages will be brought home. This is a diplomatic success and a national and moral victory for the State of Israel.”
