Pakistan’s Supreme Court in Islamabad on Monday rattled after a powerful explosion ripped through its basement cafeteria, injuring at least 12 people.
According to Pakistani media reports, the blast was caused by a gas cylinder explosion in the basement area, where the court’s cafeteria is located. The impact was so strong that a loud, echoing boom reverberated through the lower floors.
Videos circulating on social media showed minor damage to parts of the building, scattered debris, a few cracked walls, and staff rushing out.
Lawyers, clerks, and court employees were evacuated to open areas outside, per Express Tribune.
