Gold prices show marginal rise while silver stayed almost unchanged on Monday after volatile week

There hasn't been any significant change in gold and silver prices on Monday.

Last week, the country's market witnessed movement in the gold and silver prices. While some days saw significant price increases, other days witnessed slight decreases. As a result, gold and silver prices kept fluctuating quite a lot throughout the entire week. However, on the first day of this week, there was no notable change in gold and silver prices. The price change was minimal.

On Monday, the price of 24-carat pure gold increased by ₹400 per 10 grams. The price of 22-carat gold jewellery increased by ₹500 per 10 grams. Silver prices increased by ₹100 per kilogram.

Monday's gold prices (excluding tax) in the Kolkata market

Pure gold bar (24-carat): ₹1,28,800 (per 10 grams)

Pure gold bar (retail): ₹1,29,050 (per 10 grams)

Hallmark jewellery gold (22-carat): ₹1,22,650 (per 10 grams)

Silver (retail): ₹1,79,550 (per kilogram)

Regular customers will not be able to buy gold at these rates from the market. It will cost somewhat more than these rates. This Price difference is because of GST and jewellery-making charges that get added to these rates. While GST is fixed at 3%, these charges may vary from shop to shop.
