DRDO announces paid internship programme for UG and PG students

DRDO invites applications for six-month paid internships for UG and PG students in engineering, science, and psychology streams.

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has invited applications for the DRDO Paid Internships Scheme. Students pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate studies in engineering, science and psychology can apply for the scheme.

Eligibility and duration

Applications are invited from undergraduate and postgraduate engineering students, postgraduate science students, and final-year postgraduate psychology students. The shortlisted candidates will undergo six months of training or project work and receive a completion certificate from DRDO.

Stipend and payment schedule

The selected interns will receive a total stipend of ₹30,000 for the six-month duration of the internship in two equal instalments of ₹15,000. The payment of the first instalment is made after three months of work, while the second instalment is paid upon completion of the program. To continue receiving the benefit of the stipend and subsequently the certification, attendance for at least 15 days per month is necessary.

Selection process

Selection of students will be done by the DRDO on the basis of their educational performance and merit. Only for selection, their applications are to be forwarded through the head of the institution (Principal or Director). Every applicant will be required to write a biodata highlighting their academic achievements, not exceeding 300 words.

Short-listed candidates can be invited to an interaction via video conferencing or phone call. Later, the DRDO will provide the individual with the joining instructions in detail, consisting of the undertaking form and the signed indemnity bond from the head of the institution, as well as the candidate.
