Candidates filed cases in the Calcutta High Court alleging that 23 and 24 questions were wrong in the primary TET of 2017 and 2022, respectively. In response, the court formed an expert committee comprising subject experts from three universities— Kolkata, Jadavpur and Presidency. The experts' report was also submitted to the Calcutta High Court. However, the results of both TETs have already been published.
How many questions did the expert committee find errors in?
The expert committee has published the report on Monday. The report outlined that there was an error in only one question, and that was in the 2017 TET. According to the committee, no errors have been found in any question of the 2022 TET. The case is ongoing in the High Court before the bench of Justice Biswajit Basu.
The High Court had earlier stated in its observation that every candidate would receive marks for wrong questions. Not only those who filed cases, but everyone, including those who did not file cases, would have to be given those marks. The Primary Education Board also announced on Monday that everyone who answered or attempted to answer the wrong question in the 2017 TET would receive 1 mark.
The application process for primary recruitment started on November 19. A total of 13,421 vacant posts will be filled. Justice Biswajit Basu has directed that the expert committee reports of 2017 and 2022 TET must be uploaded on the website within the next seven days. However, lawyer Firdaus Shamim, representing the plaintiffs, claimed that they have adequate evidence that a total of 47 questions in the 2017 and 2022 TETs were wrong. After the expert committee report is uploaded then they will file another case in court."
