Amid IPL snub, Mustafizur Rahman sets new world record with 400 wickets

Despite being dropped from the IPL, Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman scripted history by becoming the fastest to reach 400 international wickets.

Along with the IPL, Mustafizur Rahman also plays in various T20 leagues around the world. This 30-year-old left-arm pacer is quite effective in the twenty-over format. This time, he set a record in a Bangladesh Premier League match. He plays for Rangpur Riders in this franchise league.

On Friday, his team faced Sylhet Titans in a league match. This experienced pacer showed his dominance with the ball in the match. He dismissed Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Afif Hossain and Khaled Ahmed. At the end of the match, his bowling figures were three wickets for 24 runs in four overs.

And after this performance, Mustafizur earned his place in the record books. He has set a record as the fastest pacer to take 400 wickets in T20 cricket. He achieved this record by playing 315 matches. At this moment, his economy is 7.43. This includes taking four wickets in six matches. He has taken five wickets four times.

Is KKR under pressure to release Mustafizur?

Mustafizur's record in the IPL is eye-catching. He has taken 65 wickets in 60 matches. Economy rate is 8.13. He made his IPL debut for Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2016. After that, he has played for the Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings.

KKR had strengthened their pace attack, keeping Mustafizur alongside Matheesha Pathirana for the upcoming IPL, so they are under some pressure due to losing this pacer. Now it remains to be seen who Shah Rukh's team takes as a replacement.
