As Ramadan 2026 progresses, Muslims across India will prepare to observe another day of fasting on Saturday, February 28. Devotees will begin their fast after Sehri, the pre-dawn meal, and will break it at sunset during Iftar. Timings will differ across regions due to geographical variations in sunrise and sunset.
City-wise Sehri and Iftar timings
In Delhi, Sehri will conclude at 5:29 am, while Iftar will be observed at 6:20 pm.
Residents of Lucknow will end Sehri at 5:14 am and break their fast at 6:06 pm.
In Mumbai, Sehri will end at 5:46 am, with Iftar scheduled for 6:43 pm.
Southern cities will follow slightly varied schedules. Hyderabad will observe Sehri at 5:36 am and Iftar at 6:24 pm, while Bengaluru will record Sehri at 5:25 am and Iftar at 6:28 pm. In Chennai, Sehri will conclude at 5:15 am, and Iftar will take place at 6:17 pm.
In eastern India, Kolkata will have one of the earliest timings, with Sehri ending at 4:44 am and Iftar at 5:39 pm.

Why timings will vary
Sehri and Iftar timings will vary across cities because sunrise and sunset occur at different times depending on longitude and latitude. Cities located further east, such as Kolkata, will experience earlier dawn and dusk compared to western cities like Mumbai and Ahmedabad. Religious authorities will advise devotees to follow locally verified prayer calendars and mosque announcements, as slight minute-wise differences may occur within city limits.
