The national-level entrance exam Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), for undergraduate and postgraduate admission to law courses, is going to be held on December 7, by the Consortium of National Law Universities. Aspirants qualifying in this examination will get the opportunity to study at India's leading National Law Universities based on the merit list.
2026 CLAT exam schedule
According to the notification published by the Consortium of National Law Universities, the 2026 CLAT is set to be held on December 7. The exam is scheduled to begin at 2 PM and conclude at 4 PM. Aspirants are expected to follow the guidelines during the examination, outlined by the Consortium of NLUs. Schedule for the 2026 CLAT -
Entry at the exam venue will start from 1:00 PM.
Students will be allowed to enter the exam room from 1:30 PM onwards.
The exam paper will be distributed from 1:50 PM
Students can start writing their answers from 2:00 PM.
Aspirants should reach the examination centre 45 minutes to an hour before the examination begins. The gates to the examination centre will be closed at 2:15, and no one will be allowed inside afterwards.

What to carry on the day of the exam
Here is a list of documents, candidates are advised to carry with them on the examination day -
Admit card
Students need to bring a printout of their admit card downloaded from the official website. It needs to be ensured that everything on the admit card is clearly visible.
Identification Document
Carrying a valid government-issued identity document is a must on the day of the examination. Aspirants can have any one of their original IDs, such as Aadhaar, Passport, PAN, Voter Card, or Driving Licence, to verify their identity.
Photograph
Students also need to bring two passport-size photographs with them on the day of the examination.

Along with these documents, students need to carry their own pens. Only the use of black and blue pens is allowed to answer the OMR sheet. Water bottles are allowed in the examination hall, but they must be transparent in nature. Any sort of study materials, accessories, or electronic devices is strictly prohibited in the examination venue premises.
People with disabilities appearing for the CLAT 2026 need to bring their original disability certificate. As per the guidelines released by the Consortium of NLUs, special accommodations for PwD will be present on the day of the examination. Under which eligible candidates can avail a scribe/reader/lab assistant, get extra time (Compensatory time), use technological aids and assistive devices, accessible examination centres with barrier-free infrastructure.
