In their official statement, the Red Sea Festival wrote, “We’re proud to partner with the Golden Globes Awards to honor Hind Sabri with the Omar Sharif Award and Alia Bhatt with the Golden Globe Horizon Award on the sidelines of the 5th Red Sea International Film Festival.” The two honours celebrate standout creative achievers shaping cinema across the Middle East, North Africa and increasingly, the world.

This honour was paired with a curated retrospective of Alia’s body of work which was a segment that tracked her evolution from her early years to becoming one of Indian cinema’s most critically admired and commercially bankable stars. The showcase revisited notable titles including Highway, Dear Zindagi, Gangubai Kathiawadi, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, and Brahmastra, drawing enthusiastic reactions from international audiences.

The Red Sea Festival also became an unexpected global stage for Alpha, the upcoming YRF Spy Universe film headlined by Alia. As reported by Deadline, the actor presented an exclusive early look at the 2026 release, offering audiences a glimpse into the film’s tone, scale, and action-driven design.

Directed by Shiv Rawail, Alpha marks the first-ever female-led chapter in the YRF Spy Universe. The film stars Alia alongside Sharvari and Bobby Deol in a high-intensity espionage thriller. Speaking at the festival, Alia acknowledged the pressure and excitement of leading a franchise historically fronted by characters like Tiger, Kabir, and Pathaan, calling the experience as exhilarating and demanding.
Alpha is the seventh instalment in the expanding Spy Universe, following Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan, Tiger 3, and the upcoming War 2. Under CEO Akshaye Widhani, YRF is scaling up its global slate, with multiple upcoming productions set to enter filming in the UK beginning 2026.
