A passenger on a Goa to Delhi flight fell ill mid-air. A former Congress MLA from Karnataka immediately came forward to his rescue. She treated the female co-passenger right on the flight. After arriving in Delhi, the US national was taken to the hospital. After learning about this incident, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah praised the former MLA. However, the former MLA said that she had only performed his duty.
What happened on the flight?
34-year-old Jenny, a resident of California, USA, was travelling from Goa to Delhi on that flight on Saturday afternoon, along with her sister. She fell ill just a few minutes after the flight departed from Goa. Congress leader and former MLA of Khanapur in Karnataka's Belagavi district, Dr. Anjali Nimbalkar, was on the same flight, who happens to be a physician as well. Dr. Nimbalkar was going to Delhi to attend a Congress rally that had been organised at Delhi's Ramlila Maidan.
According to sources, Jenny became unconscious on the flight. Before losing consciousness, she had started trembling. After learning this, Dr. Nimbalkar came forward and started her primary treatment. Jenny was taken to the hospital after the flight arrived in Delhi. The treatment reportedly saved the passenger's life.

Siddaramaiah praises Dr. Nimbalkar
After learning about this matter, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah praised the role of the party's former MLA. He wrote on X, "Deeply moved and incredibly proud to hear about the remarkable presence of mind and compassion shown by former Khanapur MLA Dr. Anjali Nimbalkar during a Goa–New Delhi flight. When an American woman suffered a medical emergency mid-air, Dr. Anjali instantly rose to the occasion and administered timely CPR, saving a precious life."
He added, "What makes this even more inspiring is that, despite having stepped away from her medical profession and being actively engaged in politics, the doctor within her responded without a second thought. This selfless act reflects not just professional expertise, but a profound sense of humanity, service, and responsibility toward fellow beings."
