The Ministry of Railways has announced that a new discount of 3 per cent has been offered on unreserved tickets booked through the RailOne app using any digital payment method. This offer is in place for the next six months, that is, January 14, 2026, through July 14, 2026.
General digital incentive
As of now, a cashback of 3 per cent will be credited to passengers who book unreserved tickets through RailOne only if they pay through the R-Wallet. The new policy, therefore, includes all forms of digital transactions such as UPI, credit/debit cards, and mobile wallets. This will make the service much more accessible to passengers.

Discount at the time of purchase
Although the current R-wallet refund allowance is only processed after the payment, the new refund program will immediately offer a discount upon the time of buying the ticket. âIn the existing system, 3 per cent cashback is offered to prospective passengers who purchase unreserved tickets on the RailOne App and make payments through R-wallet. However, in the new offer, 3 per cent discount will be given to the purchasers of unreserved tickets on RailOne through all digital payment modeâ, Indian Express quoted an official as saying.
Exclusive to RailOne app
The government has made it clear that this discount can only be availed through the RailOne app and not through any other online ticketing service. This again proves that RailOne is the main digital interface between the Railways and their users, especially when it comes to unreserved tickets, since it handles large volumes of traffic daily.
Monitoring and review
Reportedly, to make way for the new offer, the Railway Ministry has asked the Center for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) to implement the necessary changes. Additionally, CRIS will offer some feedback on the performance of the new offer by the end of May 2026. Most importantly, the original cashback offers of 3 per cent R-wallet will continue to be valid.
