Congress questions resignation of Bengal Governor
The sudden resignation of West Bengal Governor C. V. Ananda Bose has been criticised by the Indian National Congress party. The party believes that the resignation is suspicious, as the elections in the state are to be held in a few weeks.
The party’s leader, Jairam Ramesh, has pointed out that this is similar to the resignation of Jagdeep Dhankhar as the new Vice President in July 2025. He believes that the West Bengal Governor was treated in the same way.
The Congress leader also pointed out that the new Governor of West Bengal, R. N. Ravi, had faced trouble in Nagaland and later in Tamil Nadu.
West Bengal Governor Dr CV Ananda Bose resigned from his position yesterday. He submitted his letter of resignation to the President, PTI reported.
After his resignation, Dr Ananda Bose told PTI that he had spent enough time at the Governor's office. He served as the Governor of West Bengal for three-and-a-half years.
Dr Ananda Bose assumed the position of the Governor of the state on November 17, 2022. It is being reported that he flew to New Delhi at around 4:55 PM today and delivered his resignation letter to the President.
He was reportedly scheduled to travel to Darjeeling. However, the officers of the Governor's office eventually discovered that he had travelled to Delhi, and just after that, his resignation was announced.
