Reports of Hindustan Times stated that, Vijay urged the Centre to halt Karnataka’s proposed Mekedatu dam project unless consent is obtained from Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry. The issue has remained a major concern in Tamil Nadu over its possible impact on water availability.

Meetings with Union ministers expected

Apart from meeting Modi, Vijay is also expected to hold discussions with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman during the visit.
