Quarrel with Liverpool, Saudi clubs throng to sign Salah

Multiple clubs in the Saudi Pro League have expressed their intention to have Liverpool star Mohamed Salah on board, after reports of the deteriorating relationship between the Egyptian forward and the English club have gone public.

Mohamed Salah's relationship with Liverpool has gone down the drain. The way the situation is heading, Salah is most likely to leave Liverpool this time.His 'rebellion' against the team makes it clear that he wants to leave Liverpool this time. This situation has turned lucrative for Saudi Arabia clubs, who are eager to sign him. The Saudi government agency 'Public Investment Fund' has expressed its interest in signing Salah.

Salah in Saudi Arabia?

Multiple clubs in the Saudi league had made massive offers to Mohamed Salah to play in the Saudi Pro League since long. One offer of approximately 7,500 crore INR was made to the footballer. But Salah himself rejected that offer, and instead renewed his contract with Liverpool until 2027. However, given the current situation between Salah and Liverpool, Saudi Arabia is playing its cards.

Regarding this matter, a source from Saudi Arabia's investment agency Public Investment Fund or PIF says, we are currently monitoring Salah's position. We hope we can sign him to the team on loan or a full-time contract. However, no talks have taken place with Salah yet. We don't know if any club has contacted him either. But we welcome Salah to Saudi Arabia. The source also mentions that there is stiff competition among clubs over who will sign Salah.

Which Saudi clubs are in play?

PIF holds a total of 75 percent shares in Al-Hilal, Al-Nassr, Al-Ahli, and Al-Ittihad. The Saudi Arabian government started PIF for the development of football in the country. Through PIF, the government invests in football. However, alongside the clubs funded by PIF to sign Mohamed Salah, Al-Qadisiyah, owned by the Aramco company, has also expressed interest.

Liverpool's former star Darwin Nunez currently plays for Al-Hilal. N'Golo Kante plays for Al-Ittihad, and Cristiano Ronaldo plays for Al-Nassr. Every team has star players in the Saudi Pro League. In this situation, it remains to be seen which direction Salah goes.
