American President Donald Trump had expressed distrust towards Venezuelan opposition leader and Nobel Prize winner Maria Corina Machado. While mentioning that Machado is a very good woman, he also commented that she lacks acceptability in her own country. However, Machado expressed gratitude towards Trump. At the same time, she stated that she believes Trump should receive the Nobel Peace Prize. Machado received the Nobel Peace Prize last year. This Venezuelan leader also mentioned that she wants to share that prize with Trump. Machado made these statements in an interview with Fox News.

According to a BBC report, Machado also sharply criticised Venezuela's interim President Delcy Rodriguez. Along with that, she described Trump's role in removing Nicolas Maduro as "a huge step taken for humanity and freedom." In that interview, Machado said, "January 3 will be written in history as a day of justice's victory against authoritarianism. It will be noted not only for Venezuela, but as a huge step taken for humanity, freedom and human dignity of the entire world."
Praise for Trump’s role in Venezuela
Machado stated that she wants to share her Nobel Peace Prize with President Trump. She said, "When I received the news of winning the Nobel, I dedicated it to Trump at that very moment. I believe he deserves this prize. He has accomplished what many considered impossible."
Machado also claimed that the people of that country have no trust in Rodriguez. Her claim is, "Rodriguez cannot be trusted at all. She is one of the architects of the Maduro administration's torture, oppression and corruption. The country's people have rejected her."

Machado claims that if Venezuela holds free and fair elections, the opposition alliance will receive more than 90 per cent of the votes.
