The US Embassy in Doha has urged American citizens in Qatar and across the Middle East to remain alert as the United States government explores additional options to help its nationals leave the region amid escalating tensions.
In a statement shared on X, the embassy said the safety of American citizens remained the top priority for the US administration and the State Department.
"There is no higher priority than the safety and security of American citizens for President Donald Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and the entire Department of State," the embassy said in the post.
Officials added that authorities were working on additional departure options for Americans who wish to leave the region while closely monitoring the evolving security situation.
Embassy advises Americans to monitor updates
The embassy asked US citizens to keep checking their email for further instructions or last-minute changes related to evacuation plans.
"We are closely monitoring the situation and are committed to providing timely information and assistance to US citizens in the affected area," the embassy said.
Americans in the region were urged to follow instructions from local authorities and stay updated through official embassy channels.
To assist the State Department in coordinating support, citizens have been asked to complete the crisis intake form on the US government’s travel portal. Those who have already filled out the form were advised not to submit it again but to update their information through the embassy’s crisis case management system.

Shelter-in-place advisory remains in effect
The embassy also reiterated that shelter-in-place guidance remains in effect for Americans who choose not to depart.
Citizens have been advised to stay indoors in secure buildings, avoid windows, and keep supplies such as food, water, medicines and other essentials.
"The US Embassy in Doha continues to maintain shelter-in-place for all remaining emergency personnel. We recommend all Americans in Qatar do the same until further notice," the embassy said.
Officials also warned that Iran and its allied groups could potentially target American nationals in response to recent US strikes on Iranian positions.
Limited travel options currently available
Authorities said that the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority has partially resumed air navigation, allowing some flights to operate again. Americans who travelled with Qatar Airways were advised to contact the airline directly regarding travel arrangements.
