Nearly 170 houses were burnt to ashes in a devastating fire in Japan. The fire broke out on Tuesday evening in Oita Prefecture in southeastern Japan. 170 people have been evacuated from the area. According to sources from Japan's disaster management department, a person in his 70s has gone missing in the incident.
On Tuesday evening, a fire broke out at a port 25 kilometres away from the Oita Prefecture. The fire quickly spread to the nearby forest due to strong winds. A local resident spotted the fire and informed the fire department at around 5:30 AM on Wednesday.

Upon receiving the news, fire services and disaster management forces arrived at the scene. A total of 170 people have been evacuated from 110 houses in the area. 17 fire engines are trying to extinguish the fire. However, reports indicate that the fire has not been brought under control yet.
Help has been sought from six other municipalities in Japan, including Beppu, Usuki and Saiki. A warning has been issued by the Japanese government. Japan's Prime Minister Takaichi has stated that efforts are being made to control the fire in every possible way.
