Ranveer Singh’s much-awaited Dhurandhar, releasing on December 5, 2025, has already entered the record books. The film marks the actor’s return to theatres after two years and has now earned the title of Bollywood’s longest mainstream release in 17 years, overtaking a milestone set back in 2008.
Breaks a record last held by ‘Jodhaa Akbar’
As per reports, Dhurandhar clocks a total runtime of 214 minutes, or 3 hours and 34 minutes, making it one minute longer than Ashutosh Gowariker’s historical epic Jodhaa Akbar, which had a runtime of 3 hours and 33 minutes.

The Filmy Man confirms runtime and theatre requirements
Film commentator The Filmy Man, in an Instagram reel, stated that audiences should “go fully prepared” before entering cinemas because Dhurandhar’s length will make it an extended viewing experience.
He explained that the film’s official runtime of 3 hours and 34 minutes, cleared by the censor board, comes along with additional theatre commitments:
15–20 minutes of pre-movie advertisements
Interval
Advertisements after interval
5-minute post-credits scene
The total time a viewer may spend inside the theatre is estimated at around 4 hours 30 minutes.
A 5-minute post-credits scene sets up part 2
The Filmy Man also revealed that Dhurandhar features a five-minute post-credits scene which is unusually long by Bollywood standards, that will officially tease Dhurandhar Part 2, set for release next year.
This makes the film one of the few Indian releases to use an extended post-credit sequence to bridge its cinematic universe, surpassing even many Marvel and DC-style stingers in length.

Longest Bollywood film in nearly two decades
Before Dhurandhar, Jodhaa Akbar held the unofficial record for the longest mainstream Hindi film to hit theatres in the last 17 years. With Dhurandhar now clocking in at 214 minutes, it has taken the top spot by a narrow margin and has become a talking point across social media and film circles.
For viewers planning to watch the film on release weekend, experts recommend setting aside a minimum five-hour window.
