Four police officers killed in truck collision in Madhya Pradesh

Four bomb-squad police died in a truck collision in Sagar; one critically injured, police dog survived.

Four police officers died in a road accident. All the deceased were personnel from the bomb disposal and dog squad department. The police personnel were returning in their department vehicle. They died in a head-on collision with a truck. This accident occurred on Wednesday in the Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh.

According to police sources, this accident occurred on Wednesday morning near Bandri in Sagar district. The accident took place on National Highway 44.

Police said the deceased are Pradyumn Dikshit, Aman Kaurav, Parmal Tomar and Binod Sharma. Among them, Parmal was the driver, and Binod was the dog handler. Binod is from Bhind, and the others are residents of Morena. They were all working in the bomb disposal and dog squad in Morena.

A constable named Rajiv Chauhan was injured in the same incident. His condition is critical. He has been airlifted to Delhi for treatment.

It is learned that they had been deployed in Balaghat for anti-Maoist operations. On Wednesday morning, they were returning to Morena in their department vehicle when this accident occurred.

Local police officer Samir Jagat said a speeding truck coming from the opposite direction hit the police vehicle. The impact was so severe that the bomb disposal and dog squad vehicle was completely mangled. The bodies were recovered after cutting open the vehicle. The truck driver is absconding. Police are searching for him.

Officials also said that although four police personnel were killed and one was injured in this incident, the police dog in the vehicle remains unharmed.
