Elderly couple found dead in Delhi under mysterious circumstances, police suspect murder

Police stated that they received a call at the Police Control Room around 12:30 am on Saturday night from the couple’s son. He reported that his parents were lying unconscious on the floor.

Mystery deepens as the bodies of an elderly couple were found in a house in Delhi’s Shahdara area. Police suspect that the couple may have been murdered and have launched an investigation into the incident, officials said on Sunday.

According to police sources, the deceased have been identified as Birendrakumar Bansal (75) and Parbesh Bansal (65). Shahdara Deputy Commissioner of Police Prashant Gautam said Birendrakumar was a retired teacher. The couple’s bodies were found in two separate rooms on the fourth floor of a multi-storey building located in Ramnagar, Shahdara.

Police said they received a call at the Police Control Room around 12:30 am on Saturday night from the couple’s son, Vaibhav Bansal. He informed authorities that his parents were lying unconscious on the floor and expressed suspicion that they may have been murdered. Following the call, police reached the spot and recovered the bodies.

According to officials, multiple injury marks were found on Birendrakumar Bansal’s face, raising further suspicion of foul play. A team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) was called to the scene, and samples were collected for examination.

A case has been registered at the MS Park police station. Police are investigating the motive behind the deaths and are also examining whether there is any link to a possible robbery. Family members and neighbours are being questioned, and CCTV footage from the surrounding area is being scrutinised as part of the investigation.
