AAP Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha announced his move to the BJP alongside fellow parliamentarians Ashok Mittal and Sandeep Pathak. Speaking at a joint press conference, Chadha stated, “We have decided that we, the two-thirds members belonging to the AAP in Rajya Sabha, exercise the provisions of the Constitution of India and merge ourselves with the BJP.”
From Delhi roots to academic excellence
Born on November 11, 1988, in New Delhi, Chadha was raised in a family that valued education and discipline. He studied at Modern School, Barakhamba Road, known for its academic legacy. He later earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Delhi in 2009.
He went on to qualify as a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in 2011. To broaden his academic exposure, he also completed an executive course in public policy at the London School of Economics.

Before stepping into politics, Chadha built his career in finance. He worked with global consulting firms such as Deloitte and Grant Thornton, where he was involved in financial consulting and advisory roles. This experience shaped his understanding of economic and governance issues.
A glimpse into Chadha’s family
Chadha’s personal life gained public attention when he married actor Parineeti Chopra on September 24, 2023, in Udaipur, Rajasthan. The wedding drew interest for bringing together figures from politics and the film industry. The couple later shared that they are expecting their first child in late 2025 or early 2026.
Net worth and asset details
His financial disclosures over the years show a steady rise in declared assets. In 2019, he reported movable assets exceeding ₹16 lakh, with no immovable property, and an annual income of ₹2,19,320.

By 2020, after winning the Rajinder Nagar Assembly seat, his net worth stood at ₹19.97 lakh. In 2022, upon entering the Rajya Sabha, his movable assets increased to ₹37 lakh. This included ₹30,000 in cash and ₹6.35 lakh in bonds and shares.
He also declared ownership of a Maruti Swift Dzire valued at ₹1.32 lakh, while continuing to report no immovable assets.
