Ahmedabad traffic advisory issued ahead of T20 World Cup 2026 final at Narendra Modi Stadium

Traffic authorities in Ahmedabad have issued a traffic advisory ahead of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium, anticipating heavy crowds for the match. Several key roads near the stadium will remain closed or diverted to manage traffic movement. The stretch from Janpath T-junction to the stadium’s main gate via Krupa Residency T-junction up to Motera Gam T-junction will remain closed for vehicles in both directions during the match. Motorists have been advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes to prevent congestion. Vehicles travelling from Tapovan Circle towards ONGC Crossroads via Janpath T-junction should take internal roads before the restriction point. Those approaching through the Krupa Residency T-junction have been directed to use the left connector road and follow diversion routes.

Delhi temperature crosses 35C early, hottest March day in 15 years

Delhi recorded an unusually hot day on Saturday as the temperature crossed 35C much earlier than usual, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The maximum temperature touched 35.7C, which is 7.3C above normal, and the earliest the city has seen temperatures exceed 35C in at least 15 years. Data available from 2011 onwards shows that this is the earliest such spike recorded so far. The minimum temperature also remained high at 17.4C, about 3.4C above the seasonal average.
