On January 26, 2026, India will celebrate its 77th Republic Day, as the celebrated parade returns to Kartavya Path in the capital. The Republic Day Parade is also expected to take place on Kartavya Path in New Delhi, displaying India’s diversity, military power, and constitutional legacy.
Pre-parade highlights
Plans are in full motion with rehearsals pointing out the enormity of the celebrations. Before Republic Day celebrations, the 78th Army Day Parade is scheduled to be held on 15 January in Jaipur for the first time in a non-cantonment area. The event will showcase significant defence systems under the 'Operation Sindoor' initiative with T-90 tanks, BrahMos missiles, and M-777 howitzers, signifying the country's 'Aatma Vibhutt' or self-reliance in military capability. 15 January will witness a historic day in 1949 when General K.M. Cariappa was appointed as the first Indian Commander-in-Chief of the Army.

Tips for visitors
The tickets get sold out very fast, and it is advisable to book them well in advance. Arrive early to account for some time to spend on security checks, with the same ID used at the time of booking. Because of high public demand, more passes had to be issued last year, a phenomenon that is most likely to recur.
