The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) is set to hold its first major on-ground protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar on Saturday, with founder Abhijeet Dipke expected to arrive from the United States before the demonstration begins.

According to the group, Dipke will land in Delhi at 8 am and seek police permission before proceeding to the protest venue. The demonstration is scheduled to begin at 9 am in the Parliament Street area.

Protest centred on education issues

The CJP says the protest is aimed at highlighting concerns over the country's education system. The group has cited the NEET paper leak controversy, issues linked to recent CBSE examinations, and concerns surrounding On Screen Marking (OSM).

Dipke has alleged that the education system has failed over one crore students and left many uncertain about their future. The outfit has also questioned accountability within the education system and called for reforms.

The protest has been opened to participants across political lines, with students, parents and young people invited to join.

Appeal for peaceful participation

Ahead of the event, CJP spokespersons Ashutosh Ranka and Varun Das released a video message on Friday night urging supporters to participate peacefully.

"My fellow cockroaches, the day has come. Tomorrow morning, we meet at Jantar Mantar. Tomorrow, we reset the education system of this country. Tomorrow, we ensure that our voices can no longer be ignored. Tomorrow, we reclaim our democracy and we reclaim this beautiful nation of ours," they said.

The spokespersons stressed that the group would follow legal procedures and cooperate with authorities.

"Abhijeet Dipke will be arriving at the airport. We will seek cooperation from the police and ask for permission. Whatever processes are required within legal boundaries, we will follow them."

Guidelines for supporters

The group also appealed for calm during the protest.

"Please ensure that no violence is spread. If you see any violence, immediately capture it on video and report it to the Delhi Police. We are committed to peaceful and democratic protest."

According to the CJP advisory, participants are expected to assemble near Parliament Street Police Station before moving towards Jantar Mantar. Supporters have also been asked not to gather at the airport, after an earlier call for such a gathering was withdrawn.
