India is purchasing advanced weapons from America worth approximately $92.8 million (more than ₹823 crore in Indian currency). On Wednesday, the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) issued a statement regarding the arms sale. This step has been described as important for improving military relations between the two countries.
DSCA announced in a statement that the list includes Javelin FGM-148 missiles, fly-to-buy; 25 Javelin Lightweight Command Launch Units (LwCLU) or Javelin Block 1 Command Launch Units (CLU).

The first sales package worth $45.7 million to India includes Javelin FGM-148 missiles, fly-to-buy; 25 Javelin Lightweight Command Launch Units (LwCLU) or Javelin Block 1 Command Launch Units (CLU). Apart from these major defense equipment, India is purchasing several military components, including ancillary items, portable electronic fire control systems and other logistic support.
Any soldier can carry this American-made missile on their shoulder. It is capable of hitting targets 2.5 km away. In the new model, the target area is being increased to 4 km. It can be used to destroy army tanks. It must be used according to automatic infrared guidance.
