A Hyderabad-bound IndiGo flight from Kuwait was diverted to Mumbai on Tuesday after an email warned that a “human bomb” was on board. The threat message, which was received at the Delhi airport, triggered an immediate security response, News18 reported. An official statement from IndiGo is awaited.

The alert led to the diversion of the aircraft, which subsequently landed safely at Mumbai. Later, the police confirmed it was a false alarm.
Police: Threat turned out to be a hoax
A police official had earlier said that a case was registered after airport authorities complained about the Bahrain-Hyderabad threat. The e-mail had allegedly claimed a bomb was on the incoming flight. "Security checking was carried out there, and nothing suspicious was found and bomb threat turned out to be hoax," the news agency PTI quoted the official as saying.
