Pizza gets delivered to homes in just 30 minutes. Grocery items arrive at home within minutes of ordering online. But due to poor roads, there are delays in taking critical patients to hospitals. Along with this, ambulances also get stuck in traffic jams on roads. Jaya Bachchan demanded a solution to this problem. This Samajwadi Party MP demanded special 'emergency lanes' (dedicated emergency lanes) so that ambulances can quickly reach hospitals with patients without any obstacles.

On Wednesday, Jaya Bachchan made this demand during Zero Hour in the Rajya Sabha.

She appealed to Parliament's Health Standing Committee to look into ensuring that no critically ill patient faces delays in reaching hospitals. Along with this, Jaya Bachchan also demanded swift action on this matter. She said in Parliament, 'In a country where groceries reach doorsteps in under 15 minutes, pizzas in 30 minutes via quick commerce platforms, patients bleed to death because ambulances get trapped in traffic, lacking dedicated emergency lanes, despite the Supreme Court's 2018 directive. No national data tracks these tragedies.'

She claimed that ambulances arrive late in at least 60 percent of cases. Due to the absence of green corridors, ambulances arrive 30 minutes late even in urban areas. There are delays in rescuing accident victims and taking them to hospitals. There are no 'dedicated lanes' even on national highways. Due to delays during this critical time, patients often die.

For this reason, Jaya Bachchan demanded immediate issuance of directives to create special and 'dedicated lanes' across the country. She also appealed for arrangements including AI traffic signals, giving priority to ambulances, and creating green corridors within 30 seconds.
