The Delhi court denied the transit anticipatory bail plea of the Luthra brothers, Saurav Luthra and Gaurav Luthra. The Luthra brothers are the owners of Romeo Lane nightclub in Goa. It is the same place where the fire incident took place, taking the lives of at least 25 people.
What was their bail plea?
According to TOI, the brother sought four weeks of anticipatory transit bail on 10th December, 2025. The bail plea translated as seeking protection from the immediate arrest after the Luthra brothers came back to Delhi from Thailand. The brothers are currently detained by the Thai police. The arrests were made today at the request of the Indian law enforcement agencies. According to the officials, their deportation process has been initiated from their side as well.

What happened in the courtroom?
The Additional Sessions Judge, Vandana, has reserved the order till 5 pm after hearing the arguments of the advocates appearing on the side of Luthras. The counsel from the side of the applicants mentioned that their clients are willing to come back immediately and face the procedure of investigation and requested the court not to ‘punish them at the threshold.’ He also mentioned that the brothers had approached the Delhi Court at the earliest opportunity they had and are willing to join the probe without any further delay. The counsel from the state of Goa opposed the plea, mentioning that the Luthra brothers immediately fled from Goa, which would evade the process of the law, and the court should not be coming to their aid after all this.

The counsel from the state of Goa also mentioned that the anticipatory bail is for people who need discretionary relief. It is never for those who create obstacles in the execution of warrants or who conceal themselves.
