A coach of the Mumbai-Solapur Vande Bharat Express (Train No. 22225) toppled as it entered the platform at Pune Railway Station on Monday night, preventing a serious accident.
According to Central Railway, one trolley of the fourth coach came off the tracks at a diamond crossing at around 7.30 pm. The train had originated at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in Mumbai and was bound for Solapur.
Nonstandard diamond crossing at fault
Railway officials said the derailment took place at a nonstandard diamond crossing that is slated for an upgrade as part of ongoing yard remodeling work at Pune station. The videos from the site showed authorities inspecting the derailed trolley and assisting passengers after the incident, while a crowd gathered nearby.

Wheel slips off track at Pune station
The train was approaching Platform 3 when the front wheel of coach C-15 slipped off the track. Emergency teams reached the spot soon after. News9Live also reported that all passengers were safe and that no injury was caused to anyone on board.
Central Railway said arrangements were being made to shift passengers to another rake to minimize inconvenience.
