Former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal was acquitted of all charges by the Rouse Avenue Court on Friday, bringing relief to the party leadership after a prolonged legal battle. Speaking to reporters outside the court, a visibly emotional Kejriwal described the verdict as proof that "truth always wins".
His long-time deputy Manish Sisodia was also discharged in the same case.

Kejriwal's declared assets
According to an affidavit filed in January 2025 for the Delhi Assembly elections, Kejriwal declared assets worth Rs 1.73 crore. His movable assets total Rs 3.46 lakh, stated India Today. This includes Rs 2.96 lakh in bank savings and Rs 50,000 in cash. His immovable assets consist of a flat in Ghaziabad valued at Rs 1.7 crore.
The affidavit also states that he holds no investments in fixed deposits, shares, mutual funds, or insurance policies. His primary income source remains his salary as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA).
Financial disclosures show a notable drop in earnings over time. For the financial year 2023–24, Kejriwal declared an annual income of Rs 7.21 lakh, compared with Rs 44.90 lakh reported in 2020.
Sunita Kejriwal's assets and income
Kejriwal's wife, Sunita Kejriwal, a retired government official, reported total assets worth Rs 2.5 crore. Her movable assets include Rs 1 crore, which comprises 320 grams of gold valued at Rs 25 lakh and one kilogram of silver worth Rs 92,000, reported India Today.
Her immovable assets, including a house in Gurugram, are valued at Rs 1.5 crore. Sunita Kejriwal declared an annual income of Rs 14.10 lakh, primarily from her pension, nearly double her husband's earnings.
Combined net worth and court verdict
Together, the couple's combined net worth stands at Rs 4.23 crore, reflecting steady growth from earlier disclosures. Kejriwal had declared assets worth Rs 3.4 crore in 2020 and Rs 2.1 crore in 2015.

Meanwhile, the verdict in Friday's case was delivered by Special Judge Jitendra Singh following an investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Reacting to the outcome, Kejriwal was quoted as saying by The Times of India, "mud was thrown at us".
He added, "I am not corrupt. The court has said that Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia are honest. Today, the court has discharged all the accused in this case. We have always said that truth emerges victorious. We have full faith in the Indian legal system."
Manish Sisodia also welcomed the decision, saying, "Satyamev Jayate".
