Is WhatsApp down? Users report massive app issues

Several users reported problems accessing WhatsApp Web on Friday morning, with most complaints about login and chat-syncing issues.

According to Downdetector, the number of complaints about the issue peaked around 9 am in India. At least 16 users had reported the issue at 8:54 am, showing a sharp increase in the number of complaints against the web service.

Users expressed their frustration on X as they tried to access the service. Many of them reported that they could not connect WhatsApp Web to their devices. One user said, “Is WhatsApp for everyone down?!!! Been an hour of logging in on iPhone and linked devices.”

Data from Downdetector showed that the problem did not end immediately. About 30 minutes after the problem was reported, at least 28 users in India reported the issue. This indicated that the problem with login and syncing was still being experienced even after the first batch of complaints.

There has been no comment from Meta Platforms or WhatsApp yet regarding the reported issue. At the time of writing, the company had not released any statement or update on the issue through their official channels.
