Struggling with unwanted facial hair due to PCOD? Here’s what you can do to manage it effectively

PCOD causes a hormonal imbalance that leads to facial hair, but with the right diet, lifestyle, and skincare routine, it can be controlled naturally.

Facial hair is common in PCOD. Sometimes it became a reason for many women to lose confidence. Hair on the chin, upper lip, and cheeks can break confidence, and women may feel stressed or shy to interact. You may try several plugging creams, shaving, face waxing, and threading repeatedly, but as usual, hair comes back even thicker than before.

A journal of the National Library of Medicine suggests that, in PCOD its happened because of hormone imbalances. Basically, when the body produces male hormone testosterone, which allowed to promote extra hair growth on the face, like a male’s beard. This is why, after using several techniques, it vanishes for a short time.

If you want to know what the solution to this issue is, then here are some tricks you can try-

The solution for unwanted PCOD facial hair

Because of a hormone imbalance, it produces testosterone, so you have to focus first on how to balance your hormones. PCOD facial hair will not stop unless hormones are balanced.

Firstly, you have to make a schedule of food on a daily basis, where you should start with one cup of spearmint tea to lower testosterone levels. Consume high fibre food like Oats, fruits, vegetables and beneficial seeds.

Secondly, do exercise at least for 30minutes daily, complete your 7-8 hours sleep cycle and don’t skip meals. It will help you to reduce testosterone.

Thirdly, temporarily get rid of facial hair, you can take help of easy methods like threading, face razor once a week, it's better if you can ignore hair removal cream, because it will damage your skin's goodness.

Fourthly, make home made face pack of besan, turmeric, milk or rosewater and apply it twice a week.

And lastly, have patience cause PCOD hair reduces slowly, you will notice the changes in 2-3 months if you continue the routine.

What is PCOD?

PCOD stands for Polycystic Ovarian Disease. It is a hormonal problem in the female body, where the ovaries start making male hormones and small fluid-based cysts. This happens because eggs don’t mature in time. Irregular periods, acne, weight gain and facial hair are common symptoms of PCOD.
